All the generous donors of awards wish you success in your post-secondary education. The following letter is from the Penticton Secondary Schools Bursary and Scholarship Foundation.
To the 2022 graduating class of Penticton Secondary School – Congratulations!
The Penticton Secondary Schools Bursary and Scholarship Foundation is pleased to play an active role in your Awards Ceremony. The Foundation has been assisting Penticton students since 1985. It is our purpose to establish financial awards which will assist graduates of Penticton Secondary Schools to obtain advanced education in the academic, technical, or vocational fields. To this end, the awards of the Foundation have grown from a single $1000.00 scholarship in 1985 to well over 300 awards in 2022.
The downloadable booklet available in this website lists and describes the awards which have been contributed by members of the community to assist and encourage you as you begin your post-secondary education journey. The awards come from a large number of generous individuals and groups. Many of them are your neighbours.
The numbers amounts and/or conditions of all awards are subject to change. All awards, both scholarships and bursaries, take into account marks, need and character. Scholarships emphasize marks; bursaries emphasize need.
Be sure to read the description carefully in order to complete the application accurately.
All applicants should be undertaking a full program (5 courses per term) at an accredited post-secondary institution in the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants should qualify for the program to which they have applied. In rare and exceptional circumstances, a full course load may not be possible. Please contact Mrs. Howell by letter or email in that case (see address below) as it may not be possible to receive a partial payment for a partial program.
Awards will be paid after you have begun your studies. This procedure will be outlined in the information you receive at the Awards Ceremony. Read it carefully and retain it for reference.
The Foundation and the donors who contribute to these awards extend their best wishes for your future success.
